How To Help
Helping The Foster Box
Thank you for your interest in helping The Foster Box. Our main focus is providing resources for foster families as they welcome a new child into their home! There usually isn’t much notice before a new child is placed in a home. During the transition time, it’s extra-important for the foster parents to focus on the child. The Foster Box strives to be a quick resource for clothing and gear to get them started.
Below are 3 donation opportunities that will help The Foster Box. Your generosity will make a lasting impact in Greater Boston’s foster care community!
The Foster Box is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so contributions to The Foster Box are tax-deductible.
Goods
We accept gear, clothing and other goods for newborns and up. Our current focus is providing items for babies through elementary-aged children.
Time
Processing donations and dropping off requested items can’t be done without the help of volunteers. We would love to have you join our team and help mobilize our efforts!
Funds
Financial contributions help keep The Foster Box going by covering costs like our storage facilities, purchase new goods/gear and administrative necessities.

Clothing
We truly want children in foster care to feel confident and proud in what they receive from The Foster Box. We cannot accept donated clothing with stains, familial text (Mommy, Daddy, Sister, Brother, etc), tears, missing size tags, or used socks, underwear and bras. We also do not accept Adult and Maternity clothes. For clothes that have been in long term storage, we would appreciate you giving them a wash before donating. Please respect and help our volunteers by ensuring your clothing items meet our quality requirements before donating.
